Born in Japan, AYA FADINI OKUYAMA began studying piano when she was five years old. She studied music in Paris where she received a degree in piano and group music at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique, studying with Brigitte Engerer and Michel Béroff.

She then received a degree in forte-piano studying with Patrick Cohen. She has given concerts in Japan and Europe.

Since 1983 LAVINIA BERTOTTI has devoted herself to a Renaissance and Baroque repertoire. She studied first in Bologna and at the Scuola Civica in Milan with Cristina Miatello, and then specialized with Anatoli Goussev.

During the same period, from 1986 to 1991, at the “Sommer Akademie für Alte Musik” in Innsbruck, she attended the baroque singing periods held by Jessica Cash, and then studied privately with her in London. At the Akademie she also took the courses in stylistics of singing held by Nigel North.

From 1990 to 1994 she studied interpretation at the Seminario di Interpretazione held by Roberto Gini at the Scuola Civica of Music in Milan, where she received her degree in 1994. There she perfected her knowledge of the aesthetics and vocal style of a repertoir that ranges from Monteverdi to the 18th century cantata.

In 1992 she was among the winners of the AS.LI.CO. competition specializing in the vocal style of Monteverdi music. She took part in the “Mala Punica” group directed by Pedro Memelsdorf, specializing in Late Medieval musical repertory. She took part in the “Ensemble Concerto” by R. Gini, in the “Conserto Vago” by Massimo Lonardi, in the “Ensemble Aurora” by E. Gatti, in the “Le Parlément de Musique” by M. Gester, in the “Ensemble 415” by Chiara Banchini, and in several other groups specialized in Renaissance and Baroque musical repertory.

She has performed in many Italian and international festivals, and, recently, under the direction of Roberto Gini, she sang in “Il Combattimento”, a show created by Societas Raffaello Sanzio for the “Kunsten Festival des Arts” in Brussels, for the “Wiener Festwochen” in Vienna, for the “Holland Festival” in Amsterdam, for the “Biennale Teatro” in Venice, and for the “Le Maillon” in Strassburg.

She has made many recordings both for disks and for the radio.
