“In other words, he tries to paint the ongoing “movement.”
He tries to paint the very tension of that which refuses to stand still and which cannot stay unchanged.
He tries to paint something splitting, multiplying, floating, and expanding.
In a word, he tries to paint “life” itself.” (From the text of Tatsuro Uchida's catalog)
Koji Yamamoto was born in Osaka Japan in 1951. He began studying drawing and painting when he was 13 years old. Since 1981 he has regularly had exhibits in both Japan (Osaka, Tokyo) and Europe (London, Paris) as well as participated in several international events. Since 1998 he has been a regular speaker for a series of conferences held by the University of Tokyo and, since 2000, in Kobe. Yamamoto lives and works in Amagasaki Japan.
