Lorenzelli Arte will dedicate an important personal show to Giuseppe Maraniello from 11 May 2012, an undisputed main player in the national and international art world since more than 30 years.
“In-Es”, the title of this exhibition recalls conflicting terms but at the same time admiration, inspire-respire- that contain the idea of life, the testimony of our existence according to a polarity in constant and continuing dialectic and, as Maraniello himself suggests, symbolize and reassume the work of the artist in his endless assimilation, absorbing the reality that surrounds him through his sensorial appealing to pour this reality out of him, returning it, metabolized, in the art work.
The exhibition presents, in the three large halls of the gallery, a selection of works executed for this occasion: three large sculptures and diverse works of medium and large dimensions that represent and synthesize his artistic path through the several languages that he experimented.
Maraniello is one of the main interpreters of the generation of artists that in the Seventies and Eighties, has given back a meaning to the language of sculptures and of that of painting, playing contemporary with both and the three dimensions.
From this basis Maraniello has developed an unmistakable personal style until becoming one of the icons of the optical contemporary panorama. His works contain shapes and signs immediately recognizable even if not specifically identifiable: the symbols themselves unconsciously look alike but are key to his iconographic search, while sage games of balance make his sculptures in bronze elegant structures that cross the space.
