La giacca del designer (The designer's jacket) is an exhibition showcasing eleven outerwear pieces, designed by eleven designers, that will find their space - exhibited as true works of art - in the historic and prestigious lorenzelli arte in Milan, which renews its collaboration with the world of design.
Lorenzo Palmeri and Mario Scairato had the idea of designing their own garment, a sort of personal uniform, something between a work tool and a superhero costume.
Thanks to the meeting with Carlo Covini, all the jackets will be made of TENCEL™ Limited Edition fiber, an innovative material produced by Lenzing, derived from the recycling of a geotextile fabric designed for glacier protection in the summer. The theme of the jacket stems from their personal preference for the garment and a choice of simplification, the need for containment over the generality of the idea of clothing.
The jacket, then, is usually the main work garment, the symbol of uniform, military and civilian: the Waiter's jacket, the Worker's jacket, the Carabiniere's jacket, the Airplane Pilot's jacket, the Architect's jacket, the Lawyer's jacket, the Engineer's jacket, the Sportsman's jacket...
A selection of 11 international designers - whose sensitivity could lend itself to the project - were invited to design a piece of clothing:
Denise Bonapace - Scegli (Choose)
Arman Avetikyan Progetto #001 La nascita di una filosofia (Project #001 "The Birth of a Philosophy")
Alessandro Guerriero - La giacca desiderante (The Desiring Jacket)
Giulio Iacchetti - Giubba Talare
Martinelli Venezia - Al Millimetro (to the millimiter)
Maria Walter Nielsen - Ice-breaker
Lorenzo Palmeri - La tasca, quasi nascosta (The Almost Hidden Pocket)
Matteo Ragni - Full Cotton Jacket
Elena Salmistraro - Sei
