On January 18th, 1996 Lorenzelli Arte will inaugurate a one-man show of Agostino Ferrari's works entitled “Frammenti” (Fragments). The exhibition will be open to the public until February 18th, 1996.
On view in the gallery rooms will be: Maternità nera (Black Maternity) painted by Ferrari in 1993 and never exhibited so far, Frammenti(Fragments), five large-scale canvasses painted in 1995 and twelve small recent works.
This period of Agostino Ferrari's work, although still centred on “sign” seems to anticipate a change. The “sign” in these works is no longer seen as a linear script but explodes into a multitude of forms and signs: fragments that occupy the whole surface of the painting.
The catalogue of the exhibit printed with 18 coloured tables, by Luciano Caramel with a contribution of Iva Kubrycht and published by Skira, is on hand in the gallery.
